This and That:
H.R.H.S. is on probation this year with Colorado Youth Rugby. In a nut shell, we need to attend meetings, pay the right people at the right time, play clean, and keep it positive on the side-lines. So far so good!
The players will receive letters, pins, certificates, etc… (Varsity sports awards) at the end of season banquet. These will be for this year and last.
The girl’s team has started a tradition for the end of season banquet and I would like to extend this and make it customary for the boy’s side as well. We get together at Arrowwood for a casual buffet style brunch with plenty of tasty food, no formal speeches, good company, and videos of the season. Awards will be given at this time as well. If no one objects, let’s brunch Saturday, May 24th if we are in the Championships on the 17th and if we do not make the Championships we can brunch on the 17th.
The players will receive wind breaker style warm-ups soon. I have been told they should ship out this week (cross your fingers, light a candle, pray …). Also, two sets of team jerseys should ship this week. So far they should have a practice jersey, shorts, and socks to keep and a long sleeve (from the girl’s) and short sleeve (boy’s old) set of team jerseys for games.

How can parents help?
1. Only positive comments on the side-lines.

2. Keep Coming to the games and supporting the team.
3. Donate medical supplies (mouth guards, athletic tape, pre-wrap, flexi wrap, and cold packs are the first to go
)
4. Promote rugby. Share something positive about rugby to a listening ear, bring a friend or family member to a game, etc…
5. Team funds purchased the first round of snacks in the snack box. There is a coffee can “kitty” to contribute to or donate healthy (kinda healthy) snacks – pb crackers, granola, fruit bars, etc…
6. Email, burn a CD, and/or give Coach Kat hard copies of rugby photos and SR photos for the end of season presentation.
